The 50 MW Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Nusantara is a shareholder-assigned project entrusted to PLN Nusantara Renewables to support the electricity supply for Nusantara. This solar power plant is part of a National Strategic Program initiated by President Joko Widodo. The project was developed in two phases: the first phase, with a capacity of 10 MW, was handled through collaboration among subsidiaries of PLN Nusantara Power, while the remaining 40 MW was being built by PT Nusantara Sembcorp Solar Energi (NSSE), a joint venture between PLN Nusantara Renewables and SembCorp Utilities Pte. Ltd. Constructed in an area within the IKN zone that receives the highest solar irradiation, the plant is projected to generate 92.8 GWh of clean energy annually. Located just 5 kilometers from the Central Government Core Area (KIPP), the solar plant is expected to become a key pillar of Nusantara’s power infrastructure, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions by 104,864 tons per year. This PLTS contributes to reducing carbon emissions and supports the national clean energy target. With a capacity of 50 MW, this facility helps meet the electricity needs of the IKN and reduces dependence on fossil energy sources.
