Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected and processed when you use Peta Nusantara (petanusantara.id), and how that data is used. This website is an independent project that presents information about the construction of Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara (IKN), and does not require you to create an account to use it.

Data We Collect

This website has no registration or user account system, so we do not store your name, email address, or password. The data processed comes from three sources: usage statistics via Google Analytics, advertising via Google AdSense, and data stored locally on your own device (see the section below).

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used, for example which pages are visited most and what kind of devices visitors use. Google Analytics may place cookies on your device and collect data such as a partially anonymized IP address, device type, and pages visited. This data is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Advertising via Google AdSense

This website displays ads through Google AdSense to help fund its development and upkeep. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to show ads that are relevant based on your visits to this site and others. For visitors from the European Union, the wider European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, personalized ads and analytics measurement are only enabled after you give consent through the consent banner shown by Google. Data Stored on Your Device

Some features store data directly in your browser's local storage, and this data is never sent to our servers. This includes the list of locations you mark as favorites and the language you've chosen. Because this data lives only on your device, it will be lost if you clear your browser's site data, and we cannot access or recover it.

Camera, Location, and Compass (the "Sekitar" feature)

The "Sekitar" (nearby) feature uses your phone's camera, GPS location, and compass to show nearby Nusantara locations in an augmented-reality view. This data is processed entirely on your own device to calculate direction and distance, and is never sent to, collected by, or stored on our servers. Your browser will ask for permission before this feature can access your camera or location, and you can revoke that permission at any time through your browser settings.

Third Parties

Besides Google Analytics and Google AdSense, this website also relies on the following third-party services:

• Google (Analytics and AdSense): as described in the sections above.
• OpenStreetMap: the interactive maps on this site load map tiles from OpenStreetMap's servers, so your IP address may be visible to them when a map loads.
• Cloudflare R2: images on this site (such as location photos) are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and delivered through our assets subdomain, which runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure, so your IP address may be visible to Cloudflare when an image loads.
• Hosting and database providers (Netlify and Supabase): used to run this website and store its content (such as location data), not to store visitor personal data.

Data Retention

We do not store visitor personal data on our own servers. Analytics data is retained by Google according to the retention period configured on our Google Analytics account, while locally stored data (favorites and language preference) stays on your device until you clear it yourself.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your Choices and Rights

You have a few ways to control the data processed when you visit this site:

• Decline or withdraw consent for advertising/analytics cookies through the consent banner (for visitors from the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland) or through your browser settings.
