The Palace of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) is a government complex that includes offices, official residences, and supporting facilities for the Vice President. Located in zone 1A in the Core Government Center Area (KIPP), this complex is built on an area of 14.8 hectares with a total building area of 10,038.4 square meters.
History and Development Process
Construction began with the laying of the first stone (groundbreaking) on August 12, 2024, which was inaugurated by the then Vice President, Ma'ruf Amin. This project is targeted for completion in August 2025 and is carried out in two stages. The first stage includes the construction of the palace, offices, residences, and supporting facilities, while the second stage is planned through a separate auction process.
Architecture and Design
Concept and Inspiration
The design of the Vice President's Palace adopts the concept of "Huma Betang Umai", which means "Mother Longhouse" in Dayak culture. This concept reinterprets the longhouse of the Dayak people into a contemporary and sustainable palace.
Architect Team
This design was designed by a consortium of architects consisting of SHAU as the main architect, in collaboration with APTA and Cilaki Studio.
Contractor and Project Implementer
This project is implemented by PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk in collaboration with Penta Architecture in the form of Joint Operations (KSO). The first phase of construction budget reached IDR 1.45 trillion, which was financed through the State Budget (APBN).

The Vice Presidential Palace Complex includes:

To ensure security, this building is equipped with bulletproof glass and other sophisticated security systems.
Current Progress
As of May 2025, construction has reached a progress of around 43%, with the main structure of the building having been completed. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka conducted a direct review of the project site on May 28, 2025, emphasizing the importance of timely completion and maintaining construction quality.
