Kodim Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) is a Type A Military District Command that is being built in the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP), Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan. The construction of this Kodim aims to strengthen the presence of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) in supporting security and stability in the new capital city of Indonesia.
History and Development
Groundbreaking
The groundbreaking for the construction of Kodim IKN was carried out on December 21, 2023 by President Joko Widodo. This event marked the start of construction of a military facility designed to support TNI operations in the IKN area.
Location and Land Area
Kodim IKN was built on 3.29 hectares of land. This land is strategically located in the IKN area, allowing easy access to various government facilities and major infrastructure.

The design of this complex follows the concept of a green building and modern, in accordance with the vision of IKN as a forest city.
Design Concept
President Joko Widodo emphasized the importance of a modern and environmentally friendly IKN Kodim design. He also reminded that development should be carried out by maintaining environmental sustainability, including minimizing tree felling around the development area.
Role and Function
The IKN Kodim will function as the TNI command center in the new capital city area. In addition to its main duties in the field of defense and security, this Kodim is also expected to play a role in supporting infrastructure development, community empowerment, and environmental preservation in the Nusantara region.
