The Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) Flats (Rusun) in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan, are part of a housing development project for defense and security personnel in the core government area. This project consists of nine towers with a total of 960 residential units, designed to accommodate up to 2,880 Paspampres personnel. Each unit has an area of 98 square meters and is equipped with smart home system technology that can be accessed via an application on a smartphone.
Location and Design
The Paspampres Flats are built on 15.1 hectares of land in the IKN Core Government Center Area (KIPP). Each tower has 12 floors with 60 residential units. The planned supporting facilities include a gym, swimming pool, basketball court, and shooting range, to support the fitness and physical readiness of Paspampres personnel.
Construction Status
The construction of the Paspampres Flats began after the signing of the contract on August 25, 2023. As of December 2024, the construction progress has reached 84 percent. Two towers have been completed and used for housing in commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the IKN in August 2024.
Contractor and Awards
This project was carried out by PT Wijaya Karya Bangunan Gedung (WEGE). For its success in the construction of Rusun Paspampres, WEGE won three records from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) for the speed of construction between floors, integration of facade walls, columns, and stairs, and the application of the most drinking water technology in flats.
Investment and Funding
The investment value for the construction of Rusun Paspampres reached IDR 1.6 trillion. The funds cover all aspects from planning to completion of the project.
Integration with Other Infrastructure
Rusun Paspampres is designed to be integrated with other infrastructure in the IKN, including health, education, and transportation facilities. This aims to create a comfortable working and living environment and support the productivity of Paspampres personnel who will be on duty in the IKN.
