The House of Worship Complex in Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is an initiative to build worship facilities for the six official religions in Indonesia: Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. This complex is designed as an integral part of the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) in Sepaku, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan. The goal is to provide a representative and inclusive worship space for the multi-religious community in the IKN.
Location and Land Area
The total land area allocated for this house of worship complex is around 6.95 hectares. The details are as follows:

Catholic Basilica: 1.46 hectares
Protestant Main Church: 1.32
Great Temple: 1.36 hectares
Great Vihara: 1.36 hectares

Each place of worship is designed taking into account the needs of the congregation and the architectural characteristics of each religion.
Development Status
National Mosque
The construction of the National Mosque in the IKN has begun with the laying of the first stone by President Joko Widodo on January 18, 2024. This mosque is designed as a center for religious activities for Muslims in the IKN.
Catholic Basilica
The Catholic church to be built in the IKN is the Church of St. Francis Xavier. Construction began in July 2024 and is estimated to be completed in March 2025.
Protestant Main Church
The construction of the Protestant Main Church in the IKN is still in the planning and design stage. There is no official information regarding the construction schedule and the architects involved.
Great Temple
The Jagadnatha Temple in the IKN is a place of worship for Hindus that has begun construction with the "Matur Piuning & Nuasen" ceremony on August 6, 2023. This temple is expected to be completed in 2025.

The Mahavihara Bhumi Dhamma Nusantara Complex was built by the Nusantara Sangha Theravada Indonesia Foundation. The groundbreaking will be held in November 2024.
