IFL Wanagama , Institute of future learning, is an learning lab and working space for Gadjah Mada University (UGM) where only up to 20% of the land that can be used.
It is part of Wanagama Nusantara, a 621-hectare educational and research forest located within the Core Government Area (KIPP) of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN). Managed by the Institute for Future Life (IFL), the area is designed as an integrated centre for research, education, conservation and nature-based tourism.
It consists of eight thematic zones: Agroforestry, Eco-Edu Forest, Ecotourism, Healing Forest, Herbal Medicine, Global Forest, Conservation, and Tropical Rainforest Miniature. Wanagama Nusantara serves as a platform for multidisciplinary, cross-faculty research at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and its global partners.
The primary objective of this initiative is to establish an education, research, and tourism ecosystem that is financially self-sustaining, environmentally sustainable, and socially inclusive, whilst reinforcing the reputation of the IKN as a global hub for green innovation.
