The judicial complex refers to the institutions that exercise judicial power in Indonesia, namely the Supreme Court (MA), the Constitutional Court (MK), and the Judicial Commission (KY). These three institutions have different duties and authorities in enforcing law and justice in Indonesia. This complex is located in zone 1A of the Capital City Government Core Area (KIPP), adjacent to the Presidential Palace complex.

Design and Architect

Competition and Winners

The construction of this complex began with an architectural design competition held by the Capital City Authority (OIKN) in collaboration with the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI). This competition was intended to obtain the best design that reflects the character of the judicial institution and is in line with the principles of sustainability in the capital city.

The architectural firm Airmas Asri was selected as the winner with a work entitled "Adil Ka'Talino". This design is inspired by the values of justice and local wisdom of Kalimantan. The title itself comes from an expression in the Dayak Kanayatn language which means "fair to fellow human beings".

Architectural Concept

The design of "Adil Ka'Talino" emphasizes transparency, justice, and balance of nature, with a combination of modern architectural elements and local Kalimantan nuances. The building is designed with a green approach and energy efficiency, and integrates green spaces, natural ventilation systems, and environmentally friendly materials.

Construction Process and Schedule

As of May 2025, the construction process of the MA, MK, and KY complexes is still in the advanced planning stage after the announcement of the design winner. Finalization of technical documents and construction preparation is scheduled to take place in the second semester of 2025. There is no definite date for the start of physical construction, but OIKN is targeting construction to begin in 2026 in line with the gradual migration of state institutions to the IKN.

Building Facilities and Functions

The complex is designed to accommodate the three institutions separately but in one integrated area. Each institution will have a main building, courtroom, administrative office, and supporting facilities such as a law library, archive room, public area, and open green zone.

Integration and Accessibility

The judicial complex is designed to be open to the public through the presence of plazas, parks, and community interaction spaces. This is in line with the vision of the IKN as an inclusive city and functionally connected between state institutions.

Current Status

As of May 2025, the project status is post-competition, where the winning design is being finalized into construction documents. The appointment of the main contractor has not been officially announced by the IKN Authority.
