The Legislative Plaza is a public open space in front of the site of the legislative building complex in the Core Area of the Government Center (KIPP) of the Indonesian Capital (IKN), East Kalimantan. It serves as an open area for social, cultural and official activities, and as a place for government employees and the general public to gather and relax.

History and Development

The Legislative Plaza has been completed. The legislative building complex around it was still under construction as of September 2026.

Design and Architecture

The design of the Legislative Plaza is designed to reflect the principles of sustainability and integration with the surrounding nature. This plaza adopts the concept of green open space with the use of native Indonesian plants that are resistant to the local climate, as well as a water-saving irrigation system. In addition, the plaza design also considers aesthetic and functional aspects to support various public activities.

Sustainability and Technology

The plaza is designed with sustainability principles, such as the use of water-efficient irrigation systems and the selection of native Indonesian plants that are resistant to the local climate. The application of environmentally friendly concepts is also seen in the use of recyclable building materials and an integrated waste management system.

Role and Use

The Legislative Plaza is a public space that supports formal and informal activities around the IKN legislative area. This plaza also functions as an ecological buffer in the middle of the urban area, helping to reduce city heat and improve the quality of the surrounding air.
