Teras Hutan Ibu Kota Nusantara by Plataran is a multifunctional city park designed as an open public space in Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan. This project is a collaboration between the IKN Authority and PT Plataran Boga Rasa, a subsidiary of Plataran Indonesia engaged in hospitality and ecotourism. With an area of around 2,000 square meters, this area is designed to provide international-class venue and dining facilities that prioritize the concept of sustainability and local wisdom.
Location and Context
Teras Hutan is located in the strategic zone of the West Axis in the IKN Core Government Center Area (KIPP). Its location is close to important facilities such as the Central General Hospital (RSUP) and the Presidential Palace complex, making it an integral part of the city ecosystem designed to support the social and cultural life of the community.
History and Development Process

The construction of Teras Hutan is planned to be completed within one year from the groundbreaking, with an operational target at the end of 2025. This project is part of efforts to accelerate the development of infrastructure and public facilities in the IKN.
Concept and Facilities
Architectural Concept
The Teras Hutan design carries the concept of "Trail of Sister Parks" which combines elements of nature, local Kalimantan culture, and modern architecture. This approach aims to create a harmonious space between humans and the environment, and supports the vision of the IKN as a sustainable forest city.
Main Facilities
Teras Hutan will be equipped with various facilities, including:
Restaurant and dining area with a menu featuring the richness of Indonesian cuisine.
Open amphitheater for art and cultural performances.
Multipurpose room for community activities and official events.
Green space that can be used for recreation and environmental education.
This facility is designed to support various public activities and strengthen social interaction in the IKN community.
Role and Significance
The Forest Terrace is expected to become a new icon in the IKN that reflects a commitment to sustainable development and preservation of local culture. As a public space, this area will be a place for residents and visitors to gather, recreate, and interact. In addition, the presence of Plataran as a manager is expected to attract more private investment to the IKN, accelerate economic growth, and create new jobs.
Current Status
As of May 2025, the construction of the Forest Terrace is still ongoing according to schedule. The construction process is focused on completing the main structure and installing supporting facilities. It is hoped that this area can start operating and be opened to the public in the last quarter of 2025.
