The Pakubuwono Nusantara apartment

The Pakubuwono Nusantara is an international standard apartment project currently being developed in Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan. This project carries the concept of green building and is designed as an environmentally friendly and sustainable vertical residence. Developed by PT Pakubuwono Mandiri Investama, this project marks the involvement of the private sector in the development of IKN.

Location and Context

This apartment is located in the strategic zone of the IKN Core Government Center Area (KIPP), precisely in Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan. Its location is close to important facilities such as the Presidential Palace complex and other government centers, making it an integral part of the city ecosystem designed to support the social and cultural life of the community.

History and Development Process

Groundbreaking

The groundbreaking of this project was carried out by President Joko Widodo on December 21, 2023. In his remarks, the President stated that the construction of this apartment is in line with the concept of IKN as a green and sustainable city.

Development Schedule

As of April 2025, this project is in the detailed design stage. Physical development is planned to begin in late 2025 or early 2026, with a target completion according to the schedule set by the developer.

Concept and Facilities

Architectural Concept

The Pakubuwono Nusantara design adopts the principles of green architecture, utilizing the latest technology to create comfort and energy efficiency. This design received appreciation from the IKN design curator, Ridwan Kamil, who considered the design very much in line with the IKN concept.

Main Facilities

This project consists of two apartment towers designed to provide international standard housing. Planned facilities include green areas, a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a multi-purpose room that support a modern and sustainable lifestyle.

Investment and Developer

This project is the result of an investment from PT Pakubuwono Mandiri Investama with a value of around IDR 1 trillion. This developer is known to have a reputation for developing luxury housing in Indonesia, and its involvement in IKN is expected to encourage the participation of other private sectors in the development of the new capital city.

Current Status

As of May 2025, The Pakubuwono Nusantara project is still in the design finalization stage. Physical construction is scheduled to begin in late 2025 or early 2026, with the hope of completing the project to established standards.
