Is there an airport at IKN itself?

Yes, it's built and operating since June 2025, but only for VVIP, government, and charter flights. Commercial service is targeted for 2026, pending a presidential regulation.

Most visitors fly into Balikpapan, then drive roughly 75 minutes to IKN, expect around IDR 1.2 to 3.5 million for a full day of transport depending on how you travel.
