Official, free visits to the Government Core Area (KIPP) run daily from 9 AM to 5 PM WITA. On the designated route, you can see Istana Garuda (the Presidential Palace), Masjid Negara, Plaza Seremoni, and Taman Kusuma Bangsa. This is the most-developed part of Nusantara, and the area actually designed for tourist visits.

What isn't open yet

Most of the rest of IKN, including the ASN housing areas, newly built commercial zones, and the legislative and judicial complex (the government's own target is late 2027 or early 2028), is still an active construction site and isn't open to general tourist visits. Some of the locations shown on our map mark what's being built or planned, not places you can walk into today.

About dress code

Entering the Istana Negara area has specific rules: closed shoes (no sandals), long pants (no shorts), and a collared shirt (no plain t-shirts or tank tops). Showing up in beach-holiday wear risks being turned away at the entrance.

How to check what's current

An official daily quota of around 300 visitors has been cited in the past, but during long holidays like Christmas and New Year 2025/2026, recorded visitor numbers far exceeded that, reaching tens of thousands in a single day. Don't treat any one number as fixed, and always check the IKNOW app before you go for the current quota, hours, and which areas are open.
