This plaza will function as an open area that supports social, cultural, and official activities in the legislative environment, as well as a place to gather and relax for government employees and the general public.
History and Development
The construction of the legislative area, including the Legislative Plaza, is planned to begin in 2025. This project is part of the development of the IKN infrastructure which is targeted for completion in 2028, in line with the vision of making the Archipelago the political capital of Indonesia.
Design and Architecture
The design of the Legislative Plaza is designed to reflect the principles of sustainability and integration with the surrounding nature. This plaza will adopt the concept of green open space with the use of native Indonesian plants that are resistant to the local climate, as well as a water-saving irrigation system. In addition, the plaza design will also consider aesthetic and functional aspects to support various public activities.
Sustainability and Technology
The plaza is designed with sustainability principles, such as the use of water-efficient irrigation systems and the selection of native Indonesian plants that are resistant to the local climate. The application of environmentally friendly concepts is also seen in the use of recyclable building materials and an integrated waste management system.
Role and Use
After completion, the Legislative Plaza will be a public space that supports formal and informal activities around the IKN legislative area. This plaza also functions as an ecological buffer in the middle of the urban area, helping to reduce city heat and improve the quality of the surrounding air.
