PETA NUSANTARA

Can I visit IKN now?

Yes, IKN is open, and it's already a working city with residents, offices, and hotels. It's just not a finished one yet, so expect an active construction backdrop wherever you go.

Yes, IKN Nusantara is open to visit. This isn't a gated construction site you need special clearance to enter. People already live and work here, government staff have relocated, and hotels like Swissôtel and Hotel Qubika are operating on-site. What you should expect instead is a city that's genuinely still under construction: some areas are polished and public-facing, others are active building sites, and the full range of amenities you'd find in an established capital isn't there yet.

What you can experience today

  • Titik Nol Nusantara: the founding monument and symbolic starting point of the city, and the single most-visited spot in IKN.
  • Plaza Seremoni & Plaza Bhinneka: the ceremonial plazas along the National Axis, with food stalls, statues of Sukarno and Hatta, and views of the Otorita IKN building.

Taman Kusuma Bangsa: a quieter memorial park, a good stop away from the plazas.

The glass bridge and glamping area, and Nusantara Park, for a more nature- and photography-focused visit.

Hotels, restaurants, and everyday city life alongside all of the above. This is a place people are actually living and working, not just a monument site.

What's off-limits

As in any capital, government building interiors, including the Presidential Palace, aren't open to the public. That's normal government-workplace access, not something specific to IKN's construction status. Active construction zones are also off-limits for safety.

Visiting hours and registration

The main public plazas generally operate 09:00–17:00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time), with crowd management via the government's official IKNOW app during busier periods, weekends, national holidays, and events see tens of thousands of visitors (over 60,000 during Eid 2025), so registration helps manage flow rather than acting as an entry requirement for the city itself.
